I began writing professionally in 2005 with the publication of my first food article called Gâteaux Algériens: A Love Story, in Gastronomica in 2007.

Since then, I’ve continued to focus on food-related topics, contributing book reviews to Gastronomica and other publications and a number of entries for culinary encyclopedias published by Oxford University Press and Greenwood Press.

I worked as a freelance curriculum designer for Pearson, McDougall-Littel, Houghton Mifflin, and other small publishing consultancies. I wrote an ESL courses for Pearson Education and developed curricula, supplemental activity manuals, and assessment books for college social science textbooks. I worked as a subject matter expert for social sciences and humanities publications.
